About Us

What We Do

  • Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this corporation is to serve as a certification and inspection body for food and food products, and agricultural inputs (e.g. fertilizer, pesticide, feeds, etc) to cater the agriculture industry and the consumers of certified products.

  • Brief History

OCCP as an inspection and certification body was established as a distinct and independent organization from the original Organic Certification Center of the Philippines to comply with ISO 17065 requirements. It has relinquished its role as a membership organization, which advocates for and conducts trainings on organic farming and organic certification. The Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP) was previously registered as a non-stock corporation under the SEC in 2002. The personnel (i.e. technical and administrative staff) from the original company were transferred to the new Corporation to maintain the competence of the organization to perform organic certification services. The transfer also includes the contractual arrangements the original company has with its clients. The new OCCP Corporation has now focused its activities to inspection and certification services, expanding to fields outside of organic certification.

Competence and Integrity

OCCP is an inspection and certification body that audits/inspects and certifies production systems and products for compliance to the applicable standard and our own standards covered by our services. OCCP aims to certify products that not only meet the certification requirements, but also satisfy the needs of our clients through thorough management and improvement of the certification process. Our quality management system (QMS) is designed to ensure the maintenance of the product integrity through careful inspection and verification of the processes at all stages of the certification process. The QMS complies with the requirements of DA-BAFS and ISO 17065 (including requirements in accordance with option A).

OCCP is committed to comply with accreditation, scheme (standard) and legal requirements and also committed to continually improve the effectiveness of our quality management system. Our organization is committed to achieve the quality objectives as set out in our documented quality system. The top management will, as a minimum, meet once a year to review the quality management system of our organization to evaluate its continuous relevance and compliance.
